He has held roles within leading professional services firms, including PWC, Adventis (now Cartesian) and Analysys Mason. This consulting experience has been grounded with industry roles within BSkyB and Orange, plus interim positions such as Chief Commercial Officer and Chief Operating Officer.

Arun is a trusted adviser to boards at many digital companies globally, earning a reputation as an honest and versatile thought leader. Arun built and sold a boutique management consultancy to Analysys Mason in 2008. He served as an Executive Board member and led its telecoms sector. He was selected as Chairman of the International MVNO Association, and regularly invited as keynote speaker and on judging panels.

Arun has a BA in Economics and is a qualified Chartered Accountant from PWC.

Gareth Williams

Head of Research

Gareth is a core member of the RDC team, bringing with him 20 years of extensive TMT research experience – from circuit boards to satellite services and everything in-between. He has completed over 100 bespoke projects for operators, vendors, regulators and other organisations, using hypothesis led research to assist clients to exceed revenue growth targets. He has managed projects for BT, Cisco, Etisalat, Ofcom, Millicom, MTN, NTT, SK Telecom and the UK Space Agency.

He leads all RDC’s in-depth research and analysis,helping clients to create value and identify untapped revenue opportunities from deep drill market assessments. Gareth performs a key role identifying competitive advantages and accelerate sales, using evidence-based learnings.

Prior to joining RDC, Gareth held key research and consulting roles at Analysys Mason, WMRC (now IHS Markit), Frost & Sullivan as well as business analyst at hosted VoIP provider Inclarity.

Daryl Dunbar

Managing Consultant

Daryl is a long time telecoms expert with experience as a P&L owner and in Network Architecture and Design, OSS/BSS systems and processes, Service Design, roll out, and Operations. He is a proven international advisor and consultant having held positions as CEO, MD, GM, and Board Director.

His expertise is in leadership, technology, strategy, innovation, business design, corporate development, and venture across Telecoms, Media, Technology, Services, Healthcare, and Real Estate industries with public and private organisations ranging from start-up to FTSE 50/Fortune 10 companies.

Daryl has held key roles in BT (Director Network and Systems), Colt (Strategy and P&L roles), Bellsouth Cellular (OSS/BSS Design & Development), Sierra Pacific Communications, now Zayo (COO), Epoch Internet (VP Engineering), Enron Broadband Services (VP Engineering), Digital Realty (MD APAC) and Health Management Associates (VP IT & Network).

He has served as Strategy Lecturer at International Management Education and Lecturer for MIT Sloan Graduate Programs on Digital Transformation and Market Dynamics.

Daryl has a BSEE from University of Alabama Huntsville and Executive Education from Harvard Business School.

Gursharan Virdi

Director

Gursharan is a highly talented financial services consultant with over 23 years’ experience. She has built a reputation for designing and implementing robust risk, regulatory and control frameworks, process re-engineering and optimising management reporting processes.

She has significant knowledge of front-to-back processes, underpinning large and complex financial institutions particularly within credit risk, finance, operations and technology. Gursharan is relied upon to develop and implement IT solutions, and an expert in outsourcing, transition management and selecting and managing vendors.

She has developed a rich toolkit of robust analytical and strategic (programme) management methodologies to help businesses realise corporate visions. Gursharan’s key financial roles include Finance Controller at Merrill Lynch, Global Operations Manager at UBS, Finance Manager at BBC and Audit and Insolvency at PWC. She has a B.Sc.in Mathematics & Statistics from London University and is a Qualified Chartered Accountant from PWC.

Ioana Andrei

She has a B.Sc. in Business Management from King’s College London and an acting diploma at Fontainebleau School of Acting. Steve Lewis

Technical Director

Steve is a specialist systems architect and commercial adviser, with over 20 years of practical expertise. He has been at the forefront of many complex technology transformation projects for telecoms and media service providers and vendors.

He has designed, integrated and implemented infrastructure and software-based projects across fixed, mobile and fully converged quad-play propositions. Steve’s best practice approach delivers robust fast-track implementation projects.His expertise goes far beyond hands-on technical, providing practical end-to-end support to enable businesses to launch services in new markets and geographies.

Steve has implemented and managed many complex projects, and a variety of important roles, including CTO at PrimeTel PLC (quad play service provider),PMO Director at MTN South Africa, Launch Director at Lycamobile and Solutions Architect and Vodafone. He has also managed successful OSS/BSS design and transformation programmes for Vodafone Group, T-Mobile and Hutchison.

Steve is a Chartered Electrical Engineer, a Member of the Chartered Management Institute, has a degree in Engineering and an MBA from Durham.

Tony Matharu

Senior Consultant

Tony has over 20 years of experience launching customer relationship management (CRM), loyalty schemes and products for major airlines, telcos, clothing brands and media companies. Tony delivers by quickly understanding the brand and its customer and employees; then he applies holistic people-oriented frameworks, methodologies and toolkits to implement and integrate new technologies and solutions and deliver optimised customer experiences.

His end-to-end programme delivery, from design to launch, has helped clients achieve rapid, visible performance improvements, including increasing customer lifetime value and in parallel reducing customer acquisition costs.

Tony has designed and implemented frequent flyer programmes for Etihad Airways, British Airways and Iberia Airways, developed a youth loyalty programme for Burgan Bank (Kuwait) and launched innovative telecoms products for Tesco, Virgin Media and Tiscali. For the World’s second largest sports brand, he designed and executed a global marketing initiative that delivered 1.5 million app downloads in the first six months.
